We can trace the history back to the year 1530, when bingo was enjoyed with great enthusiasm at a local raffle called “Lo Giuoco Del Lotto D’Italia,” in Italy. An amusing fact is that it is still played there to date. The 1700s saw the game being played by the French elite who referred to it as “Le Lotto,” and by the 1800s, the Germans also took to enjoy a variation of it. However, it was only in 1999 that the game was brought to USA and presented in a carnival close to Atlanta. It was called ‘beano’ back then. A New York toy salesman named Edwin S. Lowe was the one to christen it ‘Bingo’. He took the help of a maths professor, Carl Leffer, to create over 6000 combinations, to enhance the possibilities of the game, Lowe was asked by a Pennsylvanian priest to play the game to raise funds for the church.
